(54 Plate) Subaru Forester 2.5 XT Turbo fitted with a Genuine Prodrive Performance Pack, in metallic silver with full black leather interior.We spent a long time looking at various examples before settling on this one. She is a very genuine example with just 2 previous owners from new plus myself - a careful lady driver who just happens to enjoy performance cars!Mileage reads 68,917 although this may change slightly as she is still in daily use.MOT until 20th November 2012 and Tax until the end of June 2012.The Forester is a real wolf in sheeps clothing. The factory body styling is subtle but there are a few key items to differentiate this model from a standard estate car - namely a pair of huge front fog lights and the bonnet intake for the intercooler!The body is a lovely metallic silver colour and is pretty clean for the age with a few stone chips and typical car park dints hear n there as you would expect.The interior is a contrasting full black leather with highly supportive "bucket" type front seats which are heated. Sat behind the factory leather Momo steering wheel you have great visibility, a tilting steering column, folding arm rests and adjustable seat to really get into a comfy driving position.With the legendary Subaru 4-wheel drive system she is equally at home on bumpy off-road farm tracks, blasting along B-roads or cruising on the motorway with a top speed of 140+ mph! Plenty of room in the back for passengers, handy Isofix points for kids seats. Decent sized boot with plastic washable liner and retractable load cover. Spare wheel with new tyre stored under the boot floor. 12v aux socket in boot compartment and centre console.A great car for a dad who likes his motors but still has to cart the family around with all the typical kids clutter and perhaps tow the odd trailer.As this is the XT model it benefits from may extras such as integrated touch screen colour satellite navigation, self-levelling rear suspension, cruise control, heated windscreen wiper elements in the front glass, heated front seats, full electric sunroof, retractable load cover, electric front windows, roof rails, electric heated mirrors and much more. It also has a handy towbar with 7 pin electric socket.The motor is the largest 2.5 litre petrol "flat 4 boxer engine" which has a distinctive Subaru burble. This is complimented with the addition of a genuine Prodrive Performance Pack (with factory installation certificate) which includes the fitment of a Prodrive stainless exhaust box (sounds great under hard acceleration but not too loud at cruise speed), an uprated engine management ECU and an uprated boost hose for the intercooler. There is also a performace air filter and forge dump valve (complete with selection of springs so you can set how easily it vents - we have it set very tight so only vents under very hard acceleration)The Prodrive Pack really does make all the difference and transforms the car from a reasonably quick estate into something quite astonishing. (cost about £1600 from Prodrive) The figures speak for themselves and in real-world driving conditions, there is little around that is faster.The in-gear midrange overtaking ability is awesome, once the turbo spools up, it really does pin you back in the seat. That said it is equally at home pottering around the village at a sedate 20 mph and happy to sit in typical stop-start traffic with a light easy to operate clutch and slick gear shift.Prodrive quote some very respectible figures of 255 BHP & 272 lb/ft torque0-60 in 5.5 seconds0-100 in 15.5 secondsSee here for further info on performance figures - http://www.testdriven.co.uk/prodrive-performance-pack-for-forester-25-xt/ To help bring her to a standstill, the brakes were upgraded in October 2011 to all round grooved discs with Kevlar pads, these work great from cold, don`t suffer from squeal and never have any issues with fading. There is a front upper strut brace fitted to tighten up the suspension.Factory 16 inch multispoke alloy wheels with locking wheel nuts and plenty of tread left on the tyres.The only real downside that I am aware of is that there is an in-built 6 disc dashboard cd changer unit which has never worked since we bought the car. Never bothered us as we use an FM transmittor to play an Ipod but if you still use CDs, these units often come up on Ebay for around £40 (or buy a new stereo from Halfords for not much more) There is an owners manual plus a fully stamped service book - last serviced in October 2011 at 62,964 miles by my husband who is a marine engineer. (previous one was at 56,400 by Sidlow garages) He also fitted another turbo as the old one had started to burn oil. The cooling system was flushed through and genuine Subaru gaskets etc were used. (with bills)HPI clear - we have the report from when we purchased it showing never been stolen, written off, outstanding finance etc.For security it has a factory Thatcham Category 1 alarm / immobiliser system fitted.All in all a good honest example of this subtle performance estate car.
